Benefits can include counselling, income support, and help with medical costs, with counselling available right away while the full claim is still being decided. Applications must be made within one year of the crime, or two years for crimes on or after January 1, 2024, with longer extensions possible for sexual assault, minors, and other exceptional cases. Apply by phone, mail, or using the form on the website. Office hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm.
