Booking opens October 13 for this fall’s flu and COVID vaccines, and it’s worth getting one or both on the calendar. The flu shot is free for everyone six months and older, and if you’re 65 or up, you qualify for a stronger high-dose version that gives better protection. COVID shots are also free, with priority booking for people 65 and older.

If you’re 75 or older, there’s good news already in place. The RSV vaccine has been free since September 29, and free from age 60 for Indigenous people. RSV can hit older adults harder than the flu, so it’s worth asking about even if you’ve never had this shot before.

You can get these through your pharmacy, doctor’s office, or a public health clinic. If you’re not sure which ones you’re eligible for or where to book, call 8-1-1 to talk to a nurse or pharmacist.
